Job Description:
Through their participation, Apprentice Teachers will become candidates who are well-equipped for full-time teaching positions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate skillful instruction to serve as a model for deans and teacher-leaders who are supervising and evaluating teachers
- Substitute teach for educators who are off or unable to attend to their teaching duties
- The opportunity is present for you to educate either a solitary group of individuals or a slight assemblage of students
- Routinely prepare and give lessons, gradually assuming more accountability throughout the year
- Build up your teaching competencies with the aspiration of landing a full-time position at the school
- Offer personalized academic assistance to students through daily one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions, as well as targeted small group intervention and student support
- By observing veteran teachers who are highly proficient in instruction and discipline, teachers can improve their own methods of teaching and managing students
- Arrange consistent meetings with a coach to put into action their insights on instructional resources and classroom management
- Help students identify and set achievable goals for themselves, supporting them as they strive to improve their skills and knowledge
- Assist educators with their workload, ensuring that they can focus on teaching students
Carry out all responsibilities and obligations expected of educators in a classroom setting, such as planning and delivering lessons, grading assignments, and communicating with parents and colleagues:
- Initiation of programs that align with academic criteria and guidelines
- Producing and administering appraisals that ascertain progress towards academic standards
- Careful analysis of assessment data enables teachers to identify areas where their students have already demonstrated mastery, allowing for differentiated or accelerated instruction
- Playing an active role in joint curriculum planning, grade-level events, and school-wide functions and trips;
- Maintaining consistency in rewards and punishments is essential to ensure positive student behavior is reinforced and negative behavior is corrected
- Providing direction to a handful of students is my duty
- Providing support as a co-leader for the morning and afternoon advisory/homeroom sessions
- Successful supervision in schools requires the careful observation of students during various transition periods, such as meal times, breaks, and before and after school programs
- Being accountable for making certain that students attain academic competencies;
- Effective communication with families is crucial for building trust and ensuring that students receive the necessary support at home
- Joining a yearly three-week program to orient and train staff.

The salary offered for this job in Newark is $59,000, however, the salary for those working remotely may vary.
